Have you ever been on a mission to catch RATS in your house

Back of mind, I am still in pursuit of my happiness even after catching the two little black rats.

Omg…I strongly believe they were so active and ran faster than Usain Bolt.

This whole scenario of “Catch me if you can”started 15 days ago.

When the first rat called FIRSTO started bothering us by doing his tick tick tick in our bedroom. The most vulnerable thing is we were unable to locate where he was making gurgling noises, especially during late hours (3am to 4am; the time when we were in a deep slumber).

Unpleasant sound down the clothing cupboards in our bedroom (as if this was his favourite place in an entire big house) captured all our attention and we were already done with that shu shu…..

His high-pitched squeaks, grinding and crushing never stopped. It was so irritating. Very next day, he was nowhere but again at peak sleeping hours the same sound started.

Now what to do?

We have to do something about those bruxings. I bought a Rodent mouse trap and plotted my plan to catch that little fellow who was giving us sleepless nights.

We were waiting for that soothing sound of the ton, when the rat will be captured and the door of the trap get closed with that ton sound.

And here we got him….Hip hip Hooray :)

I may not express those happy moments in these filthy words, but I was over the moon because we can sleep calmly now.

The twist is when one more night, same sound same place and may be his sibling; I called this rat as SECONDO we got his sight he looks like he just came out of his Mom’s womb; so tiny and next to impossible to locate him but I guess it’s their favourite place under the clothing cupboards in our bedroom.

At around 3:30am, half asleep rubbed my eyes, wore my slippers and went to the storeroom to get the rodent trap.

Kept it in a suspicious place to capture Master Secondo but this time my efforts went in vain, he is very tiny and clever.

To our surprise, he went inside that trap, took out the biscuits from its surface and came outside very shrewdly.

Next morning my maid bought me a new huge rat catcher and that night we got him.

Very first day when we confronted the first rat, we contacted the pest control team. At last they came for our rescue from two more rats (I call them the mom and dad of FIRSTO and SECONDO as they were similar to Nutria; a large rodent).

A sense of relief; seriously at the time when you got the confidence that there is no more “mischief of rats” inside your house.

These uninvited guests are no more around however they left an impact on my intellect to write a story for them, a way for their remembrance may be.

Though I really don’t miss them either intentionally or unintentionally :)
