Medium is BEST but do we have any other platform like this?

I always looked for online platforms. I am a mother, more or less a home maker too and a partial business woman who is presently handling business from home only due to some obstructions which I myself don’t want to vanquish for now.

Self-improvement is a vital part of my living. I don’t want to die old. I strongly believe continuous learning keeps a human healthy by mind, soul, heart, kidney, liver …..etc…(just trying to convey it in a humorous way but seriously this is so right).

I have my list of priorities and my son is one of them. He has online classes everyday and his only focus is on ROBLOX, MINECRAFT, AMONG US and so many of them.

He is 7 and wants to be a youtuber like Ssundee, Garry Blox, LankyBox and Spy cakes.

The Relationship between a mother and a child is a delicate one. I cann’t ignore his health and growth though dealing with him is another challenge.

He is completely influenced by his youtubers, he wants to spend all his time with them in game zones and watching their videos.

I cann’t blame him for killing his time by hovering around all this stuff.

Current scenario and last year was undoubtedly tough for everyone of us, the only option left was to remain safe at home or get annihilated from that Deadly Virus.

We chose to remain at home for our little chick and the after results really need attention from all aspects actually.

He is doing well in studies but no more walks, cycling or any other physical activities since we don’t go out so casually. I am just trying to indulge him with some indoor games other than enhancing his screen time.

Psychologists have this view that we should not force kids, especially the grown up one to do the things of our choice. They are wise enough, we can guide them, but cannot press them.

Neither we can isolate them nor emphasise; so the only solution left is to understand them, their issues, their aspirations and their well being.

It hurts me whenever my kid say; Mom, what should I do at home? I am bored.

Toys don’t fascinate him anymore, he wants to go out, missing his good old days.

I try to take him out twice a month with all required precautions. The funniest moments are those when he headed towards the parking area and thanked God for all this privilege to go out. Sometimes I feel as if he is released from a prison to breathe in fresh air because he acts like that only.

Speaking to the other kid’s parents, I realised it’s just not my story. Most kids are going through this phase.

I am very thankful for our childhood, we lived a very normal life. Never had this thought : Can I eat water balls or not, is it covid free or not? If it’s not virus free, I shouldn’t eat it and at last end up with the idea of eating my favourite water balls.

Praying to God, please no more waves, I just hate this word “wave”.

We are really done now, living such a restricted life suffocates us.

We have adapted this new normal, at least we are alive, our dreams are alive, hopes alive and “Alive are our Challenges”.

So, I found Medium as a very good platform to learn about new things, explore the world and squeeze out my insights. All this inspired me to come out of my comfort zone a little more to regain my passion for writing.

Just a humble request, if you are aware of any other interesting platform for writing, reading and foremost learning, kindly share your inputs.
